How much does it cost?

Pricing options reflect the many forms of collecting and presenting your stories. The variables include the length of the interviews, the time it takes for editing, organizing, and formatting, and the number of additional images that are scanned into the book.

PLEASE NOTE: All prices below are estimates only. Your book will be custom designed based on your individual situation.

  • For budgeting concerns, consider doing the audio interviews only. With this option you will have the stories of your loved ones in their own voice, and you can decide at a later time whether to make it into a published book. You will pay an hourly rate, and you can decide how many interview hours you wish to buy.

  • Smaller histories or special-occasion books are based on taped interviews of one or two hours in length and 5 to 10 photos or other scanned images.  These books are usually priced from $500 to $4000,and are generally less than 100 pages.

  • A more thorough history might be based on three to ten hours of taped interviews with multiple photos. Extra editing time is required for these projects and they usually run 100 to 200 pages.  These books can range in price from $5,000 to $15,000.

  • For more detailed projects, including extensive research and major editing and formatting, please call to discuss your needs.

Printing, binding, and other book production costs are additional in all cases.

I would be happy to work toward a fixed cost that will fit your budget. Feel free to call me with any questions.
